From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.’”—Mt 6:7-8

Oftentimes I encounter people who tell me about great difficulties in their life. As I listen to the distress they are going through, my heart just burns with compassion for them. I feel that in the midst of my heart melting with concern, them sharing their heart-wrenching distress with me, and the Holy Spirit being present, this three-way encounter might actually be a prayer in itself! Three hearts interconnected in his love!

Let us pray: Lord, give me a heart, mind, and soul burning with love for you and for all people.
