Sixth Tuesday in Ordinary Time

OT Winter Email Header 2026-3

From today’s Scripture: “Rather, each person is tempted when lured and enticed by his desire.”—Jas 1:14

The term “frail human nature” seems redundant. In today’s first reading, St. James is pointing out that each of us is tempted in our own way. Alcohol may have no appeal to one person, but they are under the grip of pornography. A person who would never resort to physical violence might slice and dice people verbally. Each of us has our Achilles heel of temptation. The good news: recognizing the “enemy” is the first step in winning the battle.

Let us pray: Lord, as Lent approaches, help me to identify and address the spiritual challenges I face.
