Fifth Wednesday in Ordinary Time

OT Winter Email Header 2026-3

From today’s Scripture: “Nothing that enters one from the outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”—Mk 7:15

How many times have we been hurt by an unkind word or caused harm to someone else with our negativity? Today’s Gospel asks us to reflect on our interior lives. Are we following Jesus’ command to love one another as God loves us? Do our words uplift or tear down? It’s not always easy to stay focused on what is just and right. Take time today and reflect on your words and deeds so you can be certain what comes from your heart is worthy.

Let us pray: May my words and actions show Christ’s love to others.
