From today’s Scripture: “I will give my eyes no sleep, my eyelids no rest, Till I find a home for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”—Ps 132:4
One of the causes of lack of sleep is worry. Sometimes we worry so much about things: the future, our jobs, our relationships or even our families. Our eyes lack sleep because we have not known that we belong to God, and he oversees all that we care about.
Making a dwelling for God within us can look like this: letting ourselves live in divine calmness by surrendering our families to God through prayer. Prayer of meditation can be key here. In this prayer, we lose all that worries us and gain the assurance that we have a loving God who is always present with us.
Let us pray: God, teach me to surrender all to you as I make my pilgrimage toward you.
