From today’s Scripture: “Jesus came with his disciples into the house.”—Mk 3:20
The Gospel reading today is short. I have no excuse not to read it more than once. The first time is for my head (what is going on in it?) and the second time is for my heart (what is it doing in me?).
Jesus has no time to eat with so many people around him. They had to take turns to be seated at tables, like I have seen done in Mexican wedding fiestas. His relatives fear he has lost his mind. Now they intervene. Our families of origin have a lot to do with our perception of others…or our lack of it.
Let us pray: Lord, give me the courage to delete what is unnecessary in my life, to resist being busy all the time, and to meet you in the surprises you reserve for me when I am focused on your will for me.
