From today’s Scripture: “For you have rescued me from death.”—Ps 56:14
Today many people will travel to pray for the legal protection of unborn children. Some who are old enough to remember the year of Roe vs. Wade can explain what 52 years have done to this country. The great numbers who are younger will give thanks for the gift of their human lives. Young and old who believe in the gift of life will affirm the respect of what has been blessed by their Lord and they have received.
Because we are in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, let us ask Jesus to heal our divisions and open our eyes to what we have in common: the gift of life and the diversity of its beauty in Christianity.
Let us pray: Lord, thank you for the gift of my life. I pray that I may see that gift in those I encounter today.
