From today’s Scripture: “Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”—Lk 21:36
Jesus invites his disciples to watch and pray so “that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life.” It is a way to remain in communion with God.
“Without prayer, faith soon dries up and dies,” says the Glenmary Constitution. “Without prayer charity grows cold and becomes routine and hope becomes a utopian dream.” That is why we must pray.
Let us pray: Jesus, may we dedicate time today and every day to talking with God, and may we open our minds and hearts to him.
