From today’s Scripture: “…and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name.”—Lk 21:12

Faithfulness to God is far more important than our own comfort and loyalty to men. Jesus invites us to stand firm when defending his cause leads to disagreements or even conflicts.

How often do we face the dilemma: Do I do what benefits me, or do I follow God’s will, even if it’s difficult? If we remain steadfast in doing God’s will, the reward is priceless. “By your perseverance you will secure your lives,” Jesus tells us.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to remain steadfast in fulfilling your will, which is always perfect.
