30th Friday in Ordinary Time

OT Summer Email Header 2025-3

From today’s Scripture: “Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and Pharisees in reply, asking, ‘Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?’”—Lk 14:3

Jesus is invited to dinner, but they regard him with distrust. They place a sick person in front of him, as if testing his compassion. Jesus doesn’t allow himself to be trapped by silence or rigid rules: he touches, heals, and restores dignity. For him, the life of one person is worth more than any rule. Sometimes I too remain silent, but Jesus teaches me that love always transcends appearances.

Let us pray: Lord, you show me how to love. Teach me the ways in which I can love others more fully today.
