From today’s Scripture: “Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back.”—Rev 12:7

The Book of Revelation is filled with sweeping apocalyptic vision–a deep sense of forces of good fighting the forces of evil. The vision that John receives in this Gospel includes the mighty battle between good and bad angels.

Many think of angels as all cheery and good, yet forget that the devil, Satan, is personified in an angel, too. There is a battle waging all around us, one that we can feel in our hearts even if we can’t see it with our eyes. God constantly invites us to join the force for good: to love one another, to give freely of ourselves. But we can’t forget that the inclination toward bad will always fight back.

Let us pray: Lord, save me! Today, help me to cling to goodness and to reject all of the bad forces that constantly are after me.
