From today’s Scripture: “He proclaimed the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.” —Acts 28:31
One of my favorite ministries is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, which teaches the faith to children in a retreat environment using Montessori methods.
Two of the best-loved parables for child and adult alike are The Mustard Seed and The Yeast. Together we wonder in awe about the mysterious, hidden power of God who works through small things to bring about something wonderful and new. (Later the children will make the connection with the little baby Jesus, born in obscurity.)
God works in hidden ways through the small and the seemingly insignificant to bring about new life. How is God doing that in your life right now?
Let us pray: All-powerful God, help me to recognize your presence working in the small, the hidden, and the powerless. Amen.
