From today’s Scripture: “How long are you going to keep us in suspense?” —Jn 10:24

In the Gospel today, Jesus is questioned by those around him. They are asking him for more proof that he is the savior. In one sense, they think Jesus is trying to trick or confuse them, and they want more evidence that he is the Christ. But he has already made clear who he is.

The truth about Jesus is that he does not trick us. He wants us to have faith in him and will give us the grace to believe. All we have to do is pray for this grace, and follow what Jesus’ Church has asked of all people throughout history. We can trust him. Jesus has already given us what we need.

Let us pray: Jesus, open my heart that I might believe in you. Help me to find my way back to your Church, to your sacraments, to your love. Amen.
