From today’s Scripture: “God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”—Jn 3:16
I currently live in a small town where only about 1 percent of the population is Catholic and over half the population don’t belong to any church. Yet, I imagine a good number of people in this county have heard the verse John 3:16 that we hear in today’s Scripture.
I don’t understand why so many can know this verse, yet, so few people come to Church? But we also heard today, “people preferred darkness to light.” It makes me reflect on how I am called to share God’s love and be a witness to those I meet today. Do my words and actions reflect my belief in God and help others to grow closer to God?
Let us pray: Loving God, guide me this day so that I might better love like you and share that love with people I am walking with today.
