From today’s Scripture: “Son though he was, Jesus learned obedience from what he suffered; and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.”—Heb 5:8-9
Good Friday has always held a special place in my spiritual journey: I have learned, been inspired and challenged as I meditated and relived the events of that day. “Not my will be yours be done.” If Jesus who is the Son of God learned obedience, then I too must be open to each day to learn obedience to the will of my father. It is only by the grace of God that I can do so: completely, without reservation or hesitation, knowing that in “clothing myself in the Lord Jesus Christ” I will find eternal joy, love, and life.
Let us pray: Father, give me the grace to embrace obedience to your will no matter how difficult that path might be. Jesus truly is your word that guides and illuminates my path that I too might one day rejoice in your presence.
