From today’s Scripture: “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”—Jn 8:7
If only our world lived by this fundamental principle. Can you imagine?
This has to be one of the most challenging things to live out as a Christian. Aren’t I entitled to my opinion of another person, particularly one who did something harmful to me or someone I love?
This is where following Jesus gets real. We have a choice to make in our treatment of others, and Jesus taught us this repeatedly. Make no mistake, forgiveness and mercy are at the heart of a follower of Christ. We may fail at times to get it right, but let us aim to march forward with the same offering of grace that Jesus extends to all.
Let us pray: Jesus, help me see others as you see them. Remind me to look upon those I wish to judge with love and mercy.
