From today’s Scripture: “He replied, ‘Well done, good servant! You have been faithful in this very small matter; take charge of ten cities.’”—Lk 19:17
What will the Lord say to us when our time has come? Will he greet us with open arms like the good servant or will we be shunned from his presence? Our hope lies in the words of the master in the parable: if we are faithful in small things our reward will be great in heaven. Our reward is not worldly riches but being allowed to share in his kingdom.
Let us ask ourselves how we could be more faithful in being witnesses to the word. How could more people come to know him through us?
Let us pray: Lord, help me to let go of my ego and pride so that I can be a faithful witness to your word.
