7th Friday of Easter

Easter Email Header 2025-3

From today’s Scripture: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” —Ps 103:2

When I take my daily walk on our country lane, I like to thank God specifically for the many blessings of my life, including the trees, fields, and farm animals that I pass by. In times of trial, naming my blessings reminds me that God will take care of my concerns. And I have learned that nothing dispels a negative outlook or resentment better than an “attitude of gratitude.”

Life has also taught me not to take blessings for granted. I never used to thank God for good health…until I got seriously ill about a year ago. My spiritual blinders in this regard were removed by that experience. These days I thank God for my health and energy, and I offer them to him to do with what he will.

Let us pray: Father, may I never forget that all good gifts come from you. Thank you.
