5th Sunday of Easter

Daily Reflection

5th Sunday of Easter

Love will save the world.

From today’s Scripture: “This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”—Jn 13:35

Do our children know it? Do our neighbors see it? What about our co-workers, friends, or those we meet in Walmart or the local hardware store?

Jesus’ words in the Gospel today challenge me. Do the people around me know that I am a disciple of Christ because of the love I show to them? Not only in times when life is going well but, especially, when I am stressed, pressured, lonely, or suffering: Especially in these moments, does my love for others shine through?

Love will save the world if we, as his disciples, love one another.

Let us pray: Help me, Jesus, to love those around me, in a manner fitting for one who desires to be your disciple. Amen.
