From today’s Scripture: “So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God.” — Ephesians 2:19
“Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together.” These opening words of Pope Leo XIV in his encyclical Magnifica Humanitas are a powerful invitation for the Church to dream of encountering one another in peace and love. This scriptural citation that we have from the epistle of St. Paul to the Ephesians is very helpful here. In a world of suspicion and political cynicism that sometimes seeks to other the other, we are invited to once again fall in love with the grandeur that is imago Dei in everyone, everyone indeed!
Let us pray: Let us pray with the words of Pope Leo XIV found in Magnifica Humanitas: “With the same faith as Mary, let us become ‘weavers of hope’ in our world, sharing who we are and what we have, so that the presence of Jesus may grow among us, and his Kingdom take shape.” Amen.
