22nd Wednesday in Ordinary Time

Web_OT Summer Email Header 2026 1

From today’s Scripture: “At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases brought them to him. He laid his hands on each of them and cured them.” — Lk 4:40

Today’s reading begins with people interceding with Jesus to heal Peter’s mother of a fever. Then when word gets out of the healing, others start bringing their friends and family members to be healed by Jesus. How often in the Gospel are people bringing someone to Jesus to be healed physically or spiritually? How often do I think to bring others to Jesus for healing? Sadly, not nearly enough.

Let us pray: Dear Jesus, open my eyes to see the needs of others. Then please open my heart to think of others in my prayers.
