19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Seeking passion

From today’s Scripture: “‘For where your treasure is, there also your heart be.’”—Lk 12:34

Jesus has great confidence in his disciples to continue his mission of bringing Good News to the world. In our Baptism we accept Jesus’ this to be our mission, too. We seek to be alive with spreading the Word of Jesus.  What gives us passion in life? What excites us?

I feel excited when I see people celebrating their lives, at family gatherings or times of graduations or weddings. Finding the joy of life in those around me gives me joy. Where our treasures are might well lead to a better world! The calling of disciples is to help build the Kingdom of God; not our kingdoms.

Let us pray: Loving gracious Lord, help me to find life in your Word and proclaim it to the world.
