Searching for Jesus

From today’s Scripture: “When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.”—Jn 6:24

My cell phone is quite often not where I expect it to be. Until I find it, I am totally preoccupied with searching. Jesus is not where the crowd expected him to be. He fed them, inspired them, and now he is not where they expect him to be. They are using every means to search for him. So often, Jesus is not where I expect him to be. Am I alert today to encountering him in unexpected places and situations?

Let us pray: Today Lord, help me to keep searching for you in places and situations where I least expect to encounter you.
