From today’s Scripture: “Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them.”—Mt 7:17-20
‘Bear fruit’ takes on many different meanings. For me personally, I think of the impact I have on society and the legacy I pass on to my children. Am I following the practices of the Catholic Faith? Am I being a good servant-leader? Do I treat others as I wish to be treated? The list goes on.
In our Lord, I have a good foundation to stand on, fertile ground, and nutrients to sustain me. He gives me everything I need to bear good fruit. The question is: what will I do with this grace?
Let us pray: Lord, in you I am strong and ever-growing. Help me use the gifts you’ve given me to honor you.
