From today’s Scripture: “But now they desire a better homeland, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”—Heb 11:16
Isn’t it a wonderful blessing to know that our God is not ashamed to be called our God, and has prepared a home for us? What a gift. How humbling it is to read and reflect on that. This came to be because we desired to be with God in Heaven. We entered into relationship with God. And isn’t that all God desires–a relationship with us? God is always waiting for us to welcome that relationship.
Perhaps this week, you can reflect on what draws you into relationship with God. What are the impediments that place roadblocks up along the way?
Let us pray: Father God, thank you for welcoming us into your family and providing a home for us. May we draw ever closer to you, especially through the Eucharist, as we journey home to heaven.
