Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day

Praise God!

From today’s Scripture: Jesus said, ‘Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?’”—(Luke 17:17-18)

Do I cultivate a posture of gratitude? It is easy to take things and people for granted: Health, family, sufficient food, a warm house, friends, a beautiful sunrise. On this Thanksgiving day (in here in the U.S.) let us recommit ourselves as women and men of faith to cultivate a posture of gratitude from the greatest miracles in our life. Let me be thankful for something as great as the birth of a child to something as small as smallest as a beautiful flower. Let me be like that grateful leper, healed by Jesus. Let my prayers of thanksgiving remind me to recognize, it is God “from whom all blessings flow.”

A prayer for Thanksgiving: Lord Jesus, shower your Holy Spirit upon us as we gather today! Help us to open our hearts more fully to see your presence and magnificence in all who might surround us today: friends or family, everything we have. Give each of us a grateful heart and a joyful spirit!
