Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus

Anything is possible.

From today’s Scripture: “I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.” —Jn 11:27

All things are possible! The story in today’s Gospel is the beginning part of the raising of Lazarus. Martha, Lazarus’s sister, goes to Jesus in a mix of grief and faith. She tells him if he had been there, Lazarus would still be alive. She follows that immediately with a profession of faith, which she doubles down on shortly after.

As she professes this faith, Jesus tells her Lazarus will rise. Later in the story, he is raised by Jesus. When we put our faith in Jesus, he shows us that anything is possible, even raising the dead.

Let us pray: Jesus help me to remember that you are Christ, the Son of God. Keep my faith in you strong that you may do great things.
