From today’s Scripture: “Whoever endures to the end will be saved.”—Mt 10:22
The day after Christmas we hear in Scripture the cost of the disciples who follow the child Jesus. There will be hatred for the followers of Jesus, but the end victory is salvation.
Today we also celebrate the feast of St. Stephen, the first martyr. Filled with the Holy Spirit he shared the teachings of Jesus. He was stoned to death but died peacefully as he entered the Kingdom of God.
I always wonder if I could lay down my life for Jesus as he laid down his life for me. I pray for that grace and wisdom to be able to follow our Lord Jesus where he leads me. The journey will lead to heaven.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, you have always been there for me; I pray I will always be there for you.
