From today’s Scripture: “Blessed the man who makes the LORD his trust; who turns not to idolatry or to those who stray after falsehood.”—Ps 40:5
Today the Church celebrates a pillar of faith. St. Pius X restored the sacredness of the faith and defended it against the errors of modernism. It seems like the verse from the psalms we hear today speaks about St. Pius X. He defended the truth against all odds, he rooted out the poison of modernism from the Church.
He steered the Church toward steady shores when the storm of modernism was threatening the Church. What can we learn from his fearless example? How could we too learn to resist the idolatry that bombard at all moments and stay fixed on Christ?
Let us pray: Lord, you are my steady rock. Let me lean on no one else but you; deliver me from all evil and falsehoods!
