From today’s Scripture: “And for this reason we too give thanks to God unceasingly that, in receiving the word of God from hearing us you received it not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God which is now at work in you who believe.”—1 Thes 2:13
God’s word is truly powerful. We need to listen to it with attentiveness and awareness of its power to work wonders in our lives. Can you sit daily with the word of God and let it sink into your heart? St. Monica did that as did all the saints. We also are called to listen, to give thanks, and to let the word be at work in our lives.
Let us pray: Open my ears and my heart to your word my God. Let me hear the whisper of your power in my heart. Fill me with your Spirit.
