From today’s Scripture: “‘Quiet! Be still!’ The wind ceased and there was great calm.”—Mk 4:39
The cares of life sometimes can feel like great wind storms. Cares about the future, jobs, family, or even our health. The cares can be about many things including spiritual, like what happens after death.
Our Scripture passage invites us to give all to God in prayer. At times when we experience dark nights of the soul or when we feel like God has gone to sleep, we are being reminded that through prayer, our God says to all that stresses us, “Quiet! Be still!” and great calm is realized in our lives.
Let us pray: Good Lord, teach me to live the great prayer of Be still and know that I am God.
