From today’s Scripture: “And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…”—Jn 1:14
I loved the original Star Wars movies with this opening crawl: “A long time ago, in a Galaxy far, far away…” This opening gives a brief history and description of the story.
Every time I read the opening of this Gospel, “In the beginning…and the Word was made flesh and made his dwelling among us…” I see it scrolling down from the heavens filling me with hope and peace. He came to transform us through his grace and love. He chose to live with us.
What kind of dwelling have I made for him? Have I invited him into my heart and life? Do I let him roam freely? What doors of my heart remain locked keeping him away?
Let us pray: Lord, help me to surrender all to you. Amen.
