From today’s Scripture: “Jesus went up the mountain…”—Mk 3:13

The Twelve must have been good climbers and in good physical condition. There were others who were the followers of Jesus, but they were not appointed. Not everybody is remembered by name. Not everybody is part of the Twelve with a job description. Yet when baptized, we are all chosen to be priests who offer, prophets to speak up, and kings and queens to make decisions.

Let us pray: O Lord, inspire us to be role models for those discerning your call in their lives. We believe you call us to a specific role if and when we can climb uphill behind you.
