Receive the Holy Spirit
From today’s Scripture: “And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit….’”—Jn 20:22
The breath of God brings hope. The breath of God fills us with peace. The breath of God changes our division into unity, our hatred into love. The breath of God instills compassion and mercy. The breath of God allows me to reflect the Divine in a more perfect way.
The breath of God, the Holy Spirit, is life itself: “The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” In our families, Church and country rife with harsh and vile division and judgment, let us pray for the breath of God, the Holy Spirit, to renew us to our core.
Let us pray: “Breathe on me, Breath of God, fill me with life anew, that I may love the way you love, and do what you would do.”
