Passion of St. John the Baptist

OT Summer Email Header 2025-3

From today’s Scripture: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”—Alleluia verse

John the Baptist preached strongly and suffered eventually his martyrdom because he spoke truth. Who today are the righteous who dare to speak up when they see injustice? How do they suffer? When have you dared to speak up against those who promote racism, war, violence, or other evils around us? How could we be the John the Baptists for our world?

Let us pray: Jesus, you did not hesitate to suffer for the truth. Indeed you declared you were Truth. Help me to stand up to those who promote any injustice and work for peace and life for all.
