From today’s Scripture: “Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come.” — Luke 11:2

Often before Mass begins, I ask the congregation, “What are we praying for today?” Usually, this question is greeted with complete silence. That is sometimes my experience with prayer as well; I am unsure of what I am praying for, or I simply do not know what my prayers that day are. When that happens, the perfect prayer is The Lord’s Prayer.

Let us pray: Father, hallowed be your name, Your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.
