From today’s Scripture: “Then your light shall break forth like the dawn.”—Is 58:8

Reality. Some people seem lightly tethered to it; some people seem oblivious to it! Given the “reality gymnastics” of artificial intelligence, I’m often left muttering “Is this real?” But Isaiah’s words today are as real as it gets. “Free the oppressed, clothe the naked, share your bread.” What corporal work of mercy can you do today?

Let us pray: Lord, give me compassionate eyes to see the needs around me — and the courage to respond.
