From today’s Scripture: “The LORD keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets captives free.”—Ps 146:6
When people lost access to their governmental support for food and basics recently, the Lord softened the hearts of many in our communities to remember the physical needs of these families. Food pantries were filled and cash donations helped in other ways. Others also banded together to find just ways to make sure that nobody goes to sleep hungry.
Let us pray: Help me, Lord, to work for your justice for my sisters and brothers whose bellies are too often empty, in addition to bringing groceries to a food pantry.
