Fourth Monday of Lent

Lent Email Header 2026_web

From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said to him, ‘You may go; your son will live.’”—Jn 4:50

The pain parents have when they see their child in pain — that pain becomes unbearable when their child dies. In the Gospel, a royal official comes running to ask if Jesus could heal his son. This official is rich; he has many men under his command, but he is not able to heal his son. He has heard of Jesus, and he knows his miracles. Jesus tells him to go home, “your son will live.”

The man shows faith in Jesus’ command. The official was at his last resort: Jesus. What has been our experience? Jesus is always there. Faith brings us to the Lord in all situations. Our Lord awaits us.

Let us pray: During Lent, we pray that our faith will direct us to the Lord.
