Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

OT Winter Email Header 2026-3

From today’s Scripture: “Then your light shall break forth like the dawn.”—Is 58:8

It can sometimes seem like the world is trying to diminish our light, leaving us feeling sad and tired. But with the simplest of actions, our light — and joy — can be rekindled. Isaiah reminds us that simple acts of charity can heal our wounds. We have so many opportunities to do good. Even a simple word of kindness to a stranger can brighten the gloomiest of days, and maybe even break us out of that funk we’ve been experiencing. How will you shine your light today?

Let us pray: Help me, today, to bring light into the darkness and kindness into difficult situations.
