From today’s Scripture: “Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.”—Jn 20:8
Today we celebrate the feast of St. John the Apostle. St. John was a special friend of Jesus. One of the best examples of this friendship was that he stood at the foot of the cross while the others hid. Jesus entrusted his mother to St. John’s care. He was the first to run to the tomb. Jesus needed close friends; his journey was glorious as well as a great challenge. John supported Jesus.
Who supports us? Do we support others? In our faith journeys, we are called to support our brothers and sisters. How can we be that true friend who helps lead others to the kingdom?
Let us pray: Lord, you have blessed me with many friends. Help me to be that friend who is there in good as well as bad times
