From today’s Scripture: “Nathanael said to Him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” — Jn 1:48
Nathanael’s vision was enlarged. He saw that Jesus already knew him and had a wonderful future in store for him. After that one conversation, Nathanael’s life was never the same. He chose to follow Jesus. In turn, Jesus chose him as one of the Twelve. Through this experience with Jesus, Nathanael’s life was transformed.
In our present time, we encounter Jesus every single day, especially when we receive the Eucharist. Therefore, every single day when we receive the Eucharist, our lives should be transformed like Nathanael. Let us prepare ourselves before receiving the Eucharist, especially in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Let us pray: Thank Jesus for what you have done for us in our lives. Open our minds and our hearts to heaven.
