From today’s Scripture: “Behold, your mother.”—Jn 19:27
Mary is the mother of the Church, and the Church is the people of God. Mary is our mother. I have joked over the years that when life goes wrong for me, or I do something very stupid, “Well God loves me, and my mom loves me.” God’s love is unconditional and many times, so is a mother’s. Some, however, have had difficult or complicated relationships with their mothers. It is good to know Mary is there for them. She is also for those who have terrific relationships with their mothers. Most of all, she is there for anyone who never knew their mother. What a blessing that Mary is the mother of all!
Let us pray: Dear Mary, thank you for loving me. Please intercede for me and your children on earth to your son in heaven.
