From today’s Scripture: “Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.’”—Lk 1:38
Mary’s response to the angel’s message is a beautiful example of faith, humility, and complete trust in God. Her words—“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”—reflect a heart fully surrendered to God’s will, even in uncertainty. She did not demand explanations or hesitate in fear; instead, she embraced God’s plan with openness and courage.
This passage challenges us to consider our own response to God’s calling in our lives. Are we willing to trust him even when his plans disrupt our own? Do we say “yes” to God with the same faith as Mary?
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, give us the courage and faith of Mary. Let her example guide my life as a follower of your word.
