All Saints Day

OT Summer Email Header 2025-3

From today’s Scripture: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”—Mt 5:3

Today we celebrate that great multitude of saints who lived the beatitudes in their everyday lives. They were not perfect, but they allowed themselves to be transformed by God. It fills me with hope to know that holiness is not a privilege of a few, but a calling for all. To be holy is to live with simplicity, with mercy, with a hunger for justice, with a pure heart that seeks God in all things. I too, in the small and hidden aspects of each day, can reflect Christ and bear witness to my life to those around me.

Let us pray: Lord, thank you for the saints that the Church has raised up as examples of holiness. Help me to imitate them in how they lived their everyday life to glorify you.
