From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said to his disciples: ‘This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.’”—Jn 15:12-13

The unconditional love that Jesus modeled throughout his life and his calls for us to share with one another is a love that places the needs of others before our own. He gave us example after example of serving with compassion and mercy, welcoming the sinner, recognizing the outcast. Love is sacrifice. Jesus’ love for us led to the cross, redeeming our sins. How do we respond? Do we put the needs of others before our own?

Let us pray: Dear Jesus, help me love others as you love me, sacrificing my will to yours.
