From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said to his disciples:, ‘The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.’”—Lk 9:22
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples very clearly what will happen to him. He even mentions that he will be raised on the third day. And yet, when the time comes for his crucifixion, the disciples scatter in fear.
It makes me wonder how often in my life do I ignore, or forget, what Jesus has told me. Do I doubt his ability to perform miracles in my life? Do I rely on myself when he says, “Be not afraid?” Today, may we listen and trust in what Jesus is telling us.
Let us pray: Jesus, help me to hear your voice today and find comfort in your words. Give me the courage to believe and trust in you.
