From today’s Scripture: “She said, ‘If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured.’”—Mk 5:28
How much faith do I have? We hear in today’s Gospel a remarkable expression of faith in the story of the hemorrhaging woman. She doesn’t ask for much, she just wants to touch the Lord.
Do we reach out to touch Jesus? For Jesus, of course, a touch is never enough; he feels the woman’s effort, he turns to find her in the crowd. He turns to find each one of us, too. Our small acts can be acts of great faith. Jesus always will turn to us.
Let us pray: O, Lord, open my eyes to see you in the crowd. Help me to reach out in whatever small way to your presence in others; open my eyes when you turn about and find me.
