Glenmary is Growing! Answer the call to Build God’s Kingdom!
With your support on December 3 and throughout the week, we will educate and form future Glenmary priests and Brothers (we have 11 currently in formation!) who will, God willing, go out and build up the Church in the Rural South and Appalachia.
As the only Catholic presence in their mission counties, Glenmary Home Missioners provide access to the sacraments and a compassionate place to turn for needed assistance.
Meet some of the men who are dedicating their lives to Building God’s Kingdom:
Brother Jude Smith is serving in Blakely, Georgia, focusing on ecumenical and community engagement, as well as health and wellness. Currently he is assisting with Confirmation preparation; attends daily devotionals with community members served by the social service organization C-Hope Ministries; volunteers at the Stewart County Detention Center; and recently completed a 40-day reflection series on service and ministry with the local Methodist congregation.
Novice Aloysius Ssennyondo is ministering at Holy Family mission in Macon County, Tennessee. He is sharing God’s love and Word at a Bible Study at a local senior living center and through weekly jail visits. He visits the homes of parishioners to pray the rosary and bring Communion; and supports Hispanic families by helping them build community through yard sales.
Philip Langford is in his third year of study for the priesthood at St. Meinrad Seminary. He lives in community at Glenmary’s House of Formation, praying and attending classes in philosophy and theology.
