From today’s Scripture: “Their minds are occupied with earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”—Phil 3:20
In today’s fast-paced and stressed out society, many are not only occupied, but preoccupied with the daily concerns of life. How often do we find ourselves at Mass, with our minds wandering to our seemingly endless to do lists? Or how many of us actually skip Mass, prioritizing work or other activities over an hour a week spent in worship of the King of Kings?
Sometimes it’s difficult to remember that our true citizenship is in heaven and our identity found in Christ rather than the stress of the world pressing in on every side. How fortunate we are to have our savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to help us redirect our minds and hearts to him!
Let us pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for being my savior. Help me to focus on you when the challenges of daily life seem overwhelming.
