From today’s Scripture: “Go and tell that fox…I [will] accomplish my purpose.” —Lk 13:32
I don’t know how you feel, but when I see people acting courageously, I am in awe.
Soldiers risk their lives for the defenseless, first-responders caring for the injured, firefighters rushing into the fire, citizens standing up to tyranny and injustice: These examples of courage, and many more, inspire me to be better.
Jesus is courageous. In the Gospel today the Pharisees warn him that Herod and others are plotting to kill him. What does Jesus do? Rather than back down, he says that he must accomplish his purpose: He must save the world.
How world-changing would our church be today if each of us prayed for courage in our life of faith, and responded accordingly?
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, give me the courage to live my faith today. Amen.
